Objective: Design a series of visually striking graphics tailored to resonate with the urban youth for a meme campaign.
The Challenge: The primary challenge was to encapsulate the essence of urban street culture while ensuring legibility and adherence to the "Perfectly Unperfect" theme. The target demographic was younger individuals who are well-acquainted with meme culture, requiring the designs to be contemporary, engaging, and easily digestible.
Approach: Two main styles were pursued:
Graffiti Style: Drawing inspiration from traditional street art, a 'drippy' typography was developed. This style, characterized by its fluidity and rawness, aimed to capture the spontaneity and freedom of youth.
Contemporary Calligraphy: A more elegant approach that sought to juxtapose the ruggedness of the graffiti with the sophistication of calligraphy, adding depth and diversity to the campaign.
Each design underwent meticulous color treatment to ensure vibrancy without overshadowing the central message. Elements such as splatters, brick textures, and symbolic doodles were incorporated to further the urban narrative.
Outcome: The designs effectively merged the world of street art with modern design sensibilities to create visuals that are not only eye-catching but also deeply rooted in the urban milieu.
